Kevin Liu is a designer, educator and printmaker based in Sydney, Australia. He is currently teaching at the University of Sydney and the co-curator of the
international travelling exhibition, John Andrews: Architect of
uncommon sense (with Professor Paul Walker, UniMelb). In 2024, he founded the printing workshop Polyline Press. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney (BDesArch,
MArch) and the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University (MDes).
He was a Frank Knox Memorial Fellow at Harvard University and Irving Instructional Technology Fellow
at the Graduate School of Design
where he was based in the
Frances Loeb Library in for the academic year of 2021-22.
Other past work experience include: Project Architect at David Boyle Architect, where projects included the award winning Five Gardens House and Breezeway House which were both recognised at the National and NSW chapter levels with awards from the Australian Institute of Architects.
Kevin has been teaching at the University of Sydney, School of Architecture, Design and Planning over the last 11 years. Recent self-led studios include: MARC6000 Semester 1, 2025, ARCHIVE PARTY; MARC6000 Semester 2, 2023 and 2024: Art, Instruments, Communication and Public Space co-taught with Delara Rahim.
In 2014, Kevin founded TYP-TOP Architecture Office with Andrew Daly after being shortlisted in the first round of the Green Square Aquatic Centre competition. They proceded through to the second stage, with TZG and JMD Design as collaborators. In 2015, as TYP-TOP, the partnership was awarded a David Lindner prize. In 2013, Kevin was awarded a Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship.
